Washington has utilized a stout defense that has brought a lot success to them. They took down USC at the Coliseum which stunned any follower of the Pac-12. Much like other teams, maybe USC isn’t as great as we once thought, but for the Huskies to go to LA and come out with the win says a lot about both teams.
Washington’s quarterback situation is shaky but luckily don’t need to rely on Jake Browning so much. They are able to score just enough, because of their defense, holding USC to just for field goals all game long. To this point, they are only giving up an average of 15 points a game. Amazing that lost three defensive starters in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
The Huskies defense was in question just because they weren’t playing against great competition, but going up against USC, who some might not see as great anymore, is still telling for the Husky defense. This is a team that some people might have written off early in the season, but if they can continue to ride their defense out throughout the season, this is a team that might be able to offer another upset in the coming weeks.
They draw Oregon, and a win for the Huskies could keep them in the running for the Pac-12 North.
