They seem to have figured themselves out, after suffering is very disappointing lost Texas A&M in Week One and then almost getting shutout vs USC at home just a few weeks later.
Todd Graham likes to use his blitz packages all throughout the game to cause chaos in the backfield, which is a huge risk/reward for this team. With the level of Pac-12 quarterbacks this year, it’s hard to imagine that Arizona State can get away with running full-out blitz’ on key downs. They managed to shake up quarterbacks on inferior teams as well as young quarterbacks like Josh Rosen and Kyle Allen, to a degree.
Running backs Demario Richards was taken out of the game and seem so suffered a somewhat serious injury, so we’ll see how he progresses in the next coming weeks. By no means is Mike Bercovici still on his Heisman campaign that many anticipated him to be on at the start of season, but he’s been able to run the offense much better than in previous games.
They have to go up to Utah which would be a tough game for any team in the country. Arizona State showed that they have big game potential, after they took care of UCLA at the Rose Bowl. In all honesty, it wouldn’t surprise me if Arizona State takes down Utah to end they’re perfect season . From time to time, this Arizona State team can show up when it comes to big games that are must-win, since Todd Graham has taken over.
