No. 22 Toledo Rockets

First game they will lose: at Central Michigan Chippewas, Nov. 10

The Rockets are one of the big surprise teams of the season so far, and have a very solidly coached group on both sides of the ball. They have played one less game than many teams, as their week one contest against Stony Brook was cancelled.

Toledo’s signature win so far was the Week 2 upset of then No. 18 Arkansas, who played an absolutely horrific game and looked like a team still shaking off the rust.

Toledo has played solidly all season, and has a couple of big upcoming tests against Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois, but the road game against a very gritty Central Michigan team will spell the end of Toledo’s magic.

The Rockets are living on their defense right now, only giving up 11.8 points per game, but they’ve yet to really face a top offensive opponent. Everything points to a Toledo win in this game, but I see an upset brewing after what will be a very physical and draining game against Northern Illinois.
