Ole Miss Rebels
- No. 13 Mississippi at Memphis
- Point Spread: Ole Miss -10.5
Sometimes I feel like I pick on Ole Miss and all they have done this year is win five out of six games with their only loss coming on the road against a ranked Florida Gator Team. In fact, one of those wins was over the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa.
Mississippi is a good football team that can score touchdowns in bunches. Chad Kelly is a big reason for the Rebel’s offensive success having already thrown for 1,862 yards and 14 touchdowns. Their defense is just as scary led by Robert Nkemdiche and a secondary that already has nine interceptions on the year.
However, Hugh Freeze knows his team is in for a battle when they visit the Liberty Bowl this Saturday afternoon. Memphis is off to their best start in school history coming into this game at 5-0. A lot of that can be contributed to the outstanding play of their junior quarterback Paxton Lynch. Lynch, who stands 6-7, has yet to throw an interception this season. He has also thrown for 1535 yards and 10 touchdowns of his own.
Just under 90 miles separate these two schools and you can count on a packed house in Memphis, TN. This will be a great opportunity for the Memphis Tigers to garner the attention they deserve on the gridiron and for Ole Miss it’s a must win to stay in the playoff hunt.
