Texas A&M’s Christian Kirk returns punt for TD vs Alabama (Video)
Christian Kirk proved yet again why the Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver is the nation’s best freshman.
The Texas A&M Aggies have one of the best wide receiver units in the country so when training camp was coming to a close, it was odd to see true freshman Christian Kirk as the team’s No. 4 receiver. At most other schools he would be the team’s No. 1 or No. 2 receiver.
Fast forward to the start of the season and Kirk proved he was more than just a No. 4 receiver and was arguably the Aggies best receiver after making an impact on offense and special teams against Arizona State in the season opener.
The former five-star receiver didn’t let up after than game and continued to produce like a No. 1 weapon and demonstrate a nice rapport with quarterback Kyle Allen.
Halfway through the season and Kirk has made a case for him to be the nation’s best freshman, ahead of UCLA Bruins quarterback Josh Rosen. And not only is he the nation’s best freshman, he’s one of the best or second best receivers in the SEC, along with Ole Miss and future first round pick, Laquon Treadwell.
Texas A&M is struggling offensively and defensively against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the first half from Kyle Field today, but Kirk is doing his best to rally his team and created a spark with this punt return for a touchdown that made it 28-13 in the closing minutes of the first half.
