Week 8 of the 2015 SEC football schedule doesn’t have many high-profile matchups, but there is plenty of opportunities for action. We pick each game against the spread.
A week ago, the SEC featured two of the country’s biggest games – Alabama vs Texas A&M in College Station and Florida’s visit to Death Valley to take on LSU – both of which had national championship implications. There were five other games on the slate, and though they lacked the cache of a top-10 matchup, were still valuable to those interested in a friendly wager.
Our weekly SEC picks against the spread got off to a good start with a three-point Auburn victory over Kentucky Thursday night, and followed with a 4-2 record on Saturday thanks to correct picks with Florida, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and South Carolina.
Despite detailing all the reasons Memphis could beat Ole Miss, we picked the Rebels to cover, and Georgia was lucky to beat Missouri by three Saturday night when we predicted them to win by more than two scores. Therefore, we settled for a solid 5-2 showing, which pushed the season record to 35-21, and a profitable 62.5 winning percentage.
- 2015 Straight Up: 42-14 (.750)
- 2015 Against the Spread: 35-21 (.625)
- 2015 Over/Under: 33-23 (.589)
- Last Week Straight Up: 6-1 (.857)
- Last Week Against the Spread: 5-2 (.714)
- Last Week Over/Under: 4-3 (.571)
This week’s slate doesn’t feature many marquee matchups, and the only meeting of ranked opponents are Texas A&M and Ole Miss, both of whom are limping into a primetime kickoff in Oxford. Still, there are five other games on tap – and all of them are capable of providing fun and profit.
With that in mind, we pick each Week 8 SEC football game against the spread.
