A pair of teams from the ACC and the SEC are four of the five teams on upset alert in Week 8 and it could officially end their Playoff chances.

Who is going to be this week’s Ole Miss and get upset and cost themselves a shot at the College Football Playoff this weekend?

The biggest upset from Week 7 was undoubtedly the Memphis Tigers beating the Ole Miss Rebels in decisive fashion. Behind quarterback Paxton Lynch, the Tigers were able to get one of the biggest wins in program history and remain undefeated.

Memphis head coach Justin Fuente just made his case for a Power Five job this offseason, if he wants it, even that much better than it already was.

The Rebels now 5-2 jumped off to an early 14-0 lead, but the Tigers never gave in and rallied to not only take the lead, but win the game convincingly. This was the 13th straight win by Memphis dating back to last year bringing the Tigers to 6-0 halfway through the 2015 campaign.

While there might not be many ranked opponents playing each other this weekend, it’s all but guaranteed that we see a handful of upsets this weekend.

The question is who? And how many? Then what was the worst one?

We are past the halfway point of the season and this is when teams try to put themselves in position for a a conference championship and earn a berth in the College Football Playoff. This week’s upset alert picks feature a pair of teams from the ACC and SEC and a prediction for James Madison-Richmond game where College GameDay is broadcasting from.
