Bill O’Brien – Head Coach, Houston Texans (NFL)

Yes, Bill O’Brien is making a lot of money coaching in the NFL right now, but something tells me that might be a short-lived honeymoon in Houston. O’Brien is just one of those guys more suited for the college game.

If you want a reason to hire O’Brien, look no further than what he was able to do when he took over at Penn State after the NCAA sucker punched the program and sent Joe Paterno packing. No scholarships, no national TV, no Big Ten Championship games, no bowl games, and yet O’Brien was still able to keep commits coming to PSU, and to make the Nittany Lions competitive.

O’Brien led the over-sanctioned program to a 15-9 overall record in two seasons. If that’s not some of the best coaching done in a long time, then who knows what is. He would be a great hire if ever he jumps the NFL ship (or is thrown overboard).
