Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh has some tips for trick-or-treaters so they can maximize the amount of candy they get during Halloween this year.

Jim Harbaugh is one of the best coaches in football because he can maximize the output of his players on the roster. That same philosophy applies to Harbaugh when it comes to those going door-to-door on Halloween this year and has some tips for all you trick-or-treaters.

Harbaugh revealed the secret to getting as much candy as possible during his Inside the Huddle segment with Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ earlier this week when he said it’s not enough to only have one Halloween costume. Those who go the extra mile and put in a little more effort will be rewarded if they wear a second costume.

“I advised them to get two costumes, to be go-getters,” Harbaugh told the Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ in an interview this week. “You can hit the neighborhood in one costume — and better to jog and run from house to house, then you can get more candy than anybody else. Then come home make a quick change into the second costume and go hit those same houses again.”

Naturally, Harbaugh is using some of the lessons he learned when he was a player at Michigan and later in the NFL so it would only make perfect sense that Harbaugh would apply some of the same lessons from his life when it comes to trick-or-treating, right?

Harbaugh mentioned he pulled the same trick when he was younger, but he didn’t get all that creative with his costumes, saying he often cut out a pair of eye holes in a bed sheet. Well, he doesn’t get points for creativity for the costume, but he does get them for the second costume to maximize the return of fun size snickers and twix.
