We’re at week 9 of the college football season, which means we only have a few games left. With division battles, and rivalry week coming up, this is going to be a battle until the end.

Baylor Bears quarterback Seth Russell is officially out of the Heisman watch, after being rule out for the season after undergoing surgery after breaking a bone in his neck.

Meanwhile, we saw a dominant performance from Clemson Tigers quarterback Deshaun Watson to propel him back into the group.

There are a few guys on the outside looking in, and guys that we once thought were locks, might not be locks depending on the outcome of their schedules.

Teams are starting to get worn out, the conference schedule is taking a toll on these guys, so only the best will fight off the pain and lead their team to a conference championship.

Running backs seems to be the flavor of the year this season, with no receivers or defensive players coming into the mix.

But the quarterbacks on this list can emerge themselves to the top with strong performances, as quarterback has become the most important position in college football.

With at least one candidate from every power five conference, and one coming from a mid-major program, this is about as wide-spread a race as you could expect.

With these guys going at it, they’re all fighting for a bid to New York City, to be named one of the finalists for the Heisman.
