Everyone wants to shoe-in Baylor or TCU, but no one is paying attention, or giving respect to Oklahoma State. They haven’t played the most difficult schedule, but they’ve made it this far and have the offense to keep up with anyone in the nation.

Their remaining schedule; vs TCU, at Iowa State, vs Baylor, vs Oklahoma. Notice that three toughest games, are all at home, a huge advantage for the Cowboys. This is obviously an uphill battle, but this is probably the best situation the Cowboys could be in right now.

A matchup with TCU might just end when someone reaches 60 points by the third quarter. Iowa State should give them no troubles, which brings the Pokes to Baylor. We’ve seen what Jarrett Stidham can do, and Baylor is still certainly a threat, but there’s just something nerve-wracking about a true freshman quarterback. Then they get the Sooners at home, and with wins vs TCU and Baylor under their belt at that point, you’d have to think that Oklahoma jumps into the top 8 at that point.

With the playoffs on the line for Oklahoma State, one win vs Oklahoma could do it. There’s no Big 12 Championship Game, but wins vs those three opponents, two of which being teams that have been penciled in the playoffs all season long, the Cowboys could pull it off.

It’s probably the toughest remaining schedule in the nation, but they catch a huge break with all three of those games being played in Stillwater.
