Wake Forest Demon Deacons
All-Time Program Record: 432–633–33
One of the top schools in the nation, Wake Forest struggles with any athletic program identity, and since Tim Duncan left the Deacons in 1997 they haven’t had a lot of luck in their best sport, basketball. The football program is barely recognizable as a program at all.
The program began in 1888, and in over a century they have only two conference titles and 10 bowl appearances to their credit. They have been the ACC doormat for decades, without so much as even coming close to a middling finish.
If Deacon fans want to ever have competitive football played by their school, they might have to consider dropping down to an FCS level or possibly move to a Group of Five conference, because they’ll be struggling in the ACC as long as they remain.
