All-Time Program Record: 510–620–46

There have been some nice moments in Iowa State football history, but moments is all there will be. Another program that has just never gotten off the ground, and has to recruit in an area saturated with Big Ten and Big 12 teams that grab all the talent.

Since 1892, the Cyclones have but two conference championships, and those were in the Missouri Valley conference in 1911 and 1912. They’ve only appeared in 12 postseason bowls and carry a 3-9 record in those games.

There was a glimmer of hope in 2004 when they surprisingly won the Big 12 North Division, but never capitalized on that season to build the program into more. The deck is stacked heavily against Iowa State to ever even win a Big 12 title, less yet a national championship.
