College Football Playoff: Five dark horse teams still in the hunt

Three weeks still remain in the regular season, yet there are still a few teams that have been cut out of the College Football Playoff conversation already.

Last week, I had five dark horse teams that could win it all, and two of those five ended up losing Week 9, Florida State and Memphis. Now, there are a few new teams here, and having multiple teams lose this weekend is probably bound to happen.

All eyes go to the final four schools in the projected playoff, and then the next two out. But after that, not too many teams are talked about, especially when you start getting outside the top 10.

But with three weeks still remaining, and for most teams a conference championship game to be played, there’s still a lot that can happen.

The odd things about this list, is that it only features three different conferences, meaning that there are at least two teams on this list that are bound to lose given their remaining regular season schedule, or conference championship game.

That alone should show you how much parity in each conference, and how many possible combinations of final four teams that can occur, giving each of these five teams a gleam of hope to slide into the big stage.
