TCU lost for the first time this year when the Oklahoma State Cowboys dispatched the Horned Frogs last Saturday and it was a loss that also cost Josh Doctson time as he had to leave the game with a wrist injury.

That injured wrist was the source for some drama on Thursday afternoon when head coach Gary Patterson was on SiriusXM radio with Chris Childers and there was something lost in translation when it was interpreted that Doctson would miss the last four games as a result of the injury, according to Jake Trotter of ESPN.com.

But upon further review, it was determined that Patterson would only be gone after these four remaining games because he’s a senior, and the injury won’t cost him the rest of the season and end his TCU career.

This would have been a crushing blow for TCU as they look to regroup after their first loss of the year considering Doctson is the nation’s leading receiver with 1,315 yards.

More from Saturday Blitz

His 78 receptions rank third in the nation and his 14 touchdowns are tied for the second most in the country.

But not only is it a sigh of relief Doctson will be able to continue his career at TCU, he’ll be in shape to play in the next game.

Quarterback Trevone Boykin is capable of spreading the wealth in this offense and continuing to put up some great stats but it looks like he’ll have one of the nation’s best, if not the best, receivers at his disposal come Saturday.
