The UCLA Bruins will honor the Navy SEALs with a special black matte helmet with the SEALs’ “frogman” logo on it.

Alternate uniforms and special helmets are becoming the norm in college football because it’s a way to sell some new merchandise and possibly even play into the decision making of recruits who love flashy things.

But the UCLA Bruins have all the right reasons in mind behind their black matte helmet they’ll wear this weekend for their game against the Washington State Cougars as they honor the Navy SEALs during their Military Appreciation game

The UCLA football twitter account shared this tweet showing the SEALs frogman logo on the left side and I have to say, it looks pretty awesome.

UCLA faces a must-win situation this weekend against Luke Falk and the Cougars high-powered passing attack to stay alive for a chance at winning the Pac-12 South title.

The Bruins had high hopes for this year but injuries have decimated the defense after season-ending injuries to standout performers like Myles Jack and Eddie Vanderdoes, but the depth was also tested beyond those two injuries.

More from Saturday Blitz

Freshman quarterback Josh Rosen looks the part of a future first-team All-Pac-12 performer and potential All-American and Heisman candidate but the Bruins need a little luck over the next two weeks to get to the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Should UCLA knock off the upstart Cougs on Saturday, they’ll have to beat the Utah Utes who only have one loss to USC this season and control their destiny to win the division and play Stanford (in all likelihood) in the Pac-12 Championship Game in December.

Do you like the helmet? Normally, I’m a fan of traditional look, but UCLA has great intentions with this alternate helmet and I’m fully on board with this to honor the brave people in the Navy SEALs.
