The Miami Hurricanes lost to the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday by a 52-7 score and the Heels did not exactly win quietly.
Quarterback Marquise Williams had a tremendous game, throwing for over 100 yards, running for more than 100 and accumulating four touchdowns on the afternoon.
After one touchdown, he decided to have a little fun at the expense of the ‘Canes, flashing “The U” upside down after he scored.
More acts followed as Ryan Switzer returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown. He continued the trend, adding more insult to injury.
The Tar Heels have every reason to be cocky as they are sitting pretty with a 9-1 record which puts them first in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division.
The Hurricanes, who came into this season looking like a team that could rise to the top are struggling to find answers. With a 6-4 mark that includes a 3-2 record in the conference, things have not gone according to plan for Al Golden’s bunch.

Was this a series of cocky moves? Yes they were.
Anytime you flash the opponent’s signature signs, one that the Hurricanes especially hang their hats on, there is certainly a level of cockiness there. However, it’s football and as we know the niceties and politeness usually take place after the final whistle, not during play.
And it’s not like Miami didn’t build themselves up as a program by having an aggressive level of swagger, so they just got a taste of their own medicine.
The Tar Heels travel to Blacksburg next Saturday to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies for a noon kickoff while the Hurricanes play Georgia Tech at home for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff.
