Final Four: Clemson, Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State
Conferences Left out: Pac-12, Big 12, Group of Five

This is probably the most easy to digest possibility, but bizarre to assume because it would mean absolutely zero change in the top four. This means that the four teams who sit on top now do nothing to damage their ranking in the eyes of the committee, and that the carnage below them keeps everyone else pushed down.

The No. 5 team right now is Iowa, so this scenario would assume that the Hawkeyes either lose by the end of the season or in the Big Ten Championship Game to Ohio State.

Alabama would beat Florida in the SEC Championship Game, and Clemson would knock off either North Carolina or Pittsburgh for the ACC title. Oklahoma State would have lost to either Baylor or Oklahoma to close out the season, essentially closing the door on any shot the Big 12 had.

This possibility is only bizarre due to two different Power-5 conferences being left out of the playoffs with Independent Notre Dame (who are technically members of the Power-5) taking that fourth spot.
