College Football Rankings: Projected AP Top 25 poll after Week 12

Predicting the AP Top 25 poll after Week 12 saw three undefeated teams lose.

Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Houston all fell from the ranks of the unbeaten in another wild weekend of college football as we head to the last week of the regular season.

The Buckeyes loss to Michigan State means we’ll have a new No. 2 in the AP top 25, which had been a bit of a revolving door at the beginning of the season until steadying out the last month or so, and all but ends their repeat bid as national champions.

That loss was followed by Tom Herman’s Houston Cougars losing for the first time this year at the hands of UConn, but can win the American Athletic Conference and get a New Year’s Six bowl bid. They weren’t in the playoff conversation, but the loss still will see them drop and they won’t be the highest ranked Group of Five team.

The Big 12 showdown with Baylor and Oklahoma State turned into a one-sided affair with the Bears controlling the Pokes despite losing Jarrett Stidham to injury and having to play their third-string QB Chris Johnson. One week after writing off Baylor for the Big 12 and the playoff, suddenly they’re alive for both.

Utah, LSU, TCU, Memphis USC and Wisconsin also lost as the AP Top 25 will feature a plethora of new teams after nine ranked teams all lost in a wild and wacky Week 12.

Here’s how the AP Top 25 is projected to look on Sunday afternoon.
