Fenway Park morphs into football stadium for Notre Dame – Boston College game (Video)
Watch Fenway Park turn into a football field for the Shamrock Series game between Notre Dame and Boston College.
It’s going to take some getting used to, but Fenway Park, the oldest stadium in MLB and home to the Boston Red Sox underwent a makeover in recent days to transition into a football field.
Fenway will host the Boston College Eagles and Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Shamrock Series today and it undoubtedly will present some fascinating sight lines and an atmosphere we haven’t seen before.
Can you just imagine sitting atop the seats on the Green Monster and watching Notre Dame quarterback Deshone Kizer run and pass the ball all over the
infield
, err I mean the gridiron? How about the watching the great Boston College defense fly to the ball from your seats along the first base line?
It’s kinda weird that Notre Dame is considered the home team in a game played in Boston against a school from Boston, but this is where we find ourselves.
But what’s really cool about this game is witnessing the transformation from a cathedral and historical landmark of a baseball stadium into a place that will host a football game. There’s a football field inside Fenway! Just let that sink in for a second.
In a video courtesy of Campus Rush, you can see the time lapse video showing the complete process of turning it from a baseball field to a football field.
You can watch Notre Dame – Boston College from Fenway Park on NBCSN at 7:30 p.m. ET.
