The top 10 Heisman candidates entering Week 13, but is it really a two-man race between Deshaun Watson and Derrick Henry?
Down the homestretch of the season and we’re learning a lot about these Heisman candidates. No one dropped out of this weeks Heisman rankings, but there was a bit of movement here and there.
We had two running backs play some FCS foes, and neither were truly able to pad their stats, and get that extra late season push for some bigger rushing numbers.
While Dalvin Cook and Derrick Henry don’t exactly need those extra numbers, it would have been nice to have something to truly differentiate themselves from the entire group. But as now, all the running backs are starting to look exactly the same, and it’ll come down to team value.
The quarterbacks are nearly close to where they were a few weeks ago, with Baker Mayfield and Deshaun Watson clearing the way. Meanwhile guys like Mason Rudolph and Trevone Boykin were starting to slide down, and have fallen out. But in their place come two new quarterbacks.
You have the consistent workhorses in Christian McCaffrey who is breaking records and doing it all for the Stanford Cardinal. But then there were some slip ups, particularly with Ezekiel Elliott, who had some questionable comments after their loss to Michigan.
Next week, we have some Heisman hopefuls clashing in what should be some phenomenal games over Thanksgiving weekend. So let’s just sit back and enjoy the final weeks of regular season college football.
