Auburn Recruiting: 4-Star DE Nick Coe commits to Tigers
Auburn picked up a commitment from defensive end Nick Coe Saturday.
Gus Malzahn and the Auburn Tigers landed a big commitment Saturday as 2016 four-star strong-side defensive end Nick Coe (Ashboro. Ashboro. NC) committed to the program prior to their big contest against Alabama in the Iron Bowl. This news was first reported by Keith Niebuhr of 247Sports.

Coe is the No. 343 player in his class, No. 16 strong-side defensive end and the No. 14 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
He collected 10 offers in total, with Auburn being the only one from the SEC. He was heavily recruited by the ACC with Florida State, Miami, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech all extending him offers.
On the Auburn front, he was recruited by linebackers coach Lance Thompson. He was offered by the program on May 28, and took an unofficial visit to the campus on July 24. That same day, he named the Tigers his leader.
With this commitment, the Tigers solid 2016 class keeps on growing. With 17 commitments in the class including two five-star commitments, the talent in the class is undeniable. The class itself ranks No. 10 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

He has the ability to explode off the ball once it is hiked and can be a force in the pass rush. At 6-foot-5, 269 pounds, there is not much that he cannot do defensively.
Particularly as the game of football becomes more wide-open and offensive-minded, having someone like him that can be a disruptive force is an asset.
This Auburn class has threats on both sides of the football and it should make for very well-rounded teams over the next couple of years, ones that should be able to have a shot at national championships.
