Michigan Recruiting: 4-Star DT Jordan Elliot commits to Wolverines
The Michigan Wolverines secured a commitment from four-star prospect Jordan Elliott.
The Wolverines may have lost The Game Saturday afternoon, but they did pick up a win on the recruiting trail, securing a commitment from 2016 four-star defensive tackle Jordan Elliott (Westside. Houston, TX.) This news was first reported by Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.
Elliott is the No. 98 player in the 2016 class, No. 14 defensive tackle, and the No. 15 player in the Lone Star State per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
He was a highly regarded prospect across the country, notching 38 offers in total. He was originally committed to the Houston Cougars, but decommitted from the program on September 7.
On the Michigan front, he was recruited to Ann Arbor by defensive line coach Greg Mattison and the program made the cut as one of his top three teams along with Baylor and Texas. He then took an unofficial visit on Friday, before announcing his commitment Saturday.

With this commitment, the Wolverines have one of the strongest 2016 classes in the country. With 11 four-star commitments, Jim Harbaugh and his staff have done a nice job of evaluating talent and landing it. The class has 22 commits in total, good enough for No. 7 nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten per the 247Sports Team Rankings.
At 6-foot-4, 305 pounds, Elliott is able to use his size to deliver punishing hits. His physical style of play will bring a welcome element to Michigan’s defense which was stout during the regular season, ranking No. 2 in the country in total yards (2,894).

It’s a somber mood for Michigan fans after losing to Ohio State in such lopsided fashion, but the addition of Elliott to Harbaugh’s recruiting class is a nice consolation.
