Florida Recruiting: 4-star CB Jayvaughn Myers decommits
Four-star cornerback Jayvaughn Myers decommitted from the Florida Gators.
On Monday, the Florida Gators had a commit leave the fold as 2016 four-star cornerback Jayvaughn Myers (Pasco. Dade City, FL) decommitted from the program. Myers is the No. 256 player in the class, No. 24 cornerback, and the No. 38 player in the Sunshine State per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
He received 23 offers in total including several within the SEC as Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, and Mississippi State all extended offers. He also tallied two in-state offers from Florida State and USF.
On the Florida front, he was recruited by defensive backs coach Kirk Callahan and tight ends coach Greg Nord, who served the role of secondary recruiter. Offered by the program April 29, he took unofficial visits on June 4, 6, and 19. He then attended a camp on July 24 before announcing his commitment August 4. He took one more unofficial visit to Gainesville during the season on September 5.
"This is a huge decision in my life for the next 3-4 years. I just want to make sure I'm making the right choice"
It is worth noting that he received an offer from Alabama on October 28, and has also notched an offer from Florida State, as well as receiving a visit from Seminole coach Lawrence Dawsey.

Could he become either a Seminole or a member of the Crimson Tide? To me, those are the two teams that are in the best position to land him and I could see him staying in-state and becoming a Seminole.
In the 2013 and 2014 seasons combined, he tallied 50 tackles, a sack and seven pass breakups, and his versatility could have helped the Gators.
The Florida 2016 class stands at No. 10 in the country and No. 4 in the SEC with 25 commitments per the 247Sports Team Rankings.
