College GameDay Signs: Best from Big Ten Championship Game between Iowa – Michigan State
The best College GameDay signs from the Big Ten Championship Game between the Michigan State Spartans and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
It’s a default play-in game for the College Football Playoff with the Big Ten Championship on the line from Indianapolis where the undefeated Iowa Hawkeyes by head coach Kirk Ferentz are the underdogs against Mark Dantonio’s Spartans.
No one had Iowa playing in this game in the beginning of the year, and perhaps even in the middle of the year despite beating Wisconsin, and they certainly didn’t have the Hawkeyes being undefeated with one game away from a playoff berth.
Michigan State was believed to be a top 10 team in the preseason but they too were not given much of a chance (outside East Lansing) to get to the Big Ten Championship Game with the Ohio State Buckeyes looking like a powerhouse poised to repeat as Big Ten and national champions.
A funny thing happened along the way though and Michigan State stunned Ohio State with a walk-off field goal to end the Buckeyes’ pursuit of a national title. ESPN is hoping for similar drama today and that’s why College GameDay is in Indianapolis, outside Lucas Oil Stadium, for tonight’s game.
Now that the stage is set, let’s see how the fans outside the stadium set the stage as the backdrop to ESPN’s pregame show and check out the best College GameDay signs.
What was your favorite College GameDay sign this weekend? I’m partial to the Eye Test sign and not only do I think it’s the best sign of the week, I think it’s a candidate for the sign of the year. Bravo, Iowa fans.
