What school has the most Heisman Trophy winners?
What school has bragging rights when it comes to the Heisman Trophy? Here are the schools with the most Heisman winners since the trophy was first awarded in 1935.
The Heisman Trophy will be awarded tonight to either Alabama running back Derrick Henry, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson or Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey. It would be the first Heisman for Clemson should Watson win and would be the second for both Alabama and Stanford, but they are all trailing by a wide margin for the most Heisman winners of all-time.
39 different schools have won the Heisman Trophy and 17 schools have multiple winners of the most prestigious individual honor in college football, but two schools come out on top with seven Heisman Trophies in their program history.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have seen six players win seven Heisman’s, with Archie Griffin the only two-time Heisman winner.

Joining Griffin as Ohio State Heisman winners are Les Horvath, Vic Janowicz, Howard Cassady, Eddie George and Troy Smith.
Also with seven Heisman Trophies is the Notre Dame Fighting Irish with Angelo Bertelli, Johnny Lujack, Leon Hart, Johnny Lattner, Paul Hornung, John Huarte and Tim Brown.
The USC Trojans technically have six Heisman winners after Reggie Bush had to vacate his trophy due to NCAA penalties, but there were seven Heisman presentations with a USC player on the winning end, so there’s an asterisk next to their sis.
