Four-star defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson committed to the Auburn Tigers over the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Auburn Tigers added a second highly ranked defensive lineman to their 2016 recruiting class in as many days. One day after five-star defensive end Marlon Davidson reaffirmed his commitment and signed his financial aid paperwork, Auburn picked up the commitment from four-star defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson.

Jackson (Ellenwood, GA. Cedar Grove) is the nation’s No. 55 overall recruit, No. 8 defensive tackle and the No. 5 recruit in the state of Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The 6-2.5, 285-pound Jackson picked Auburn over offers from Ohio State, Florida and a late push from Kirby Smart and Georgia. Coaches put the full court press on Jackson this month with the U.S. Army All-American getting in-home visits from Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson on Dec. 4 and later on Dec. 10 with Urban Meyer accompanying him.

Also on Dec. 4, Jackson was visited by Auburn assistant Tracy Rocker and three days later from Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn before taking his official visit to Auburn on Dec. 11.

Ohio State wouldn’t quit though as new defensive coordinator Greg Schiano visited Jackson after his visit to Auburn and brand new Georgia head coach Smart tried to make a late push on Dec. 13 before making his final decision today.

But really, this decision came down to Auburn and Ohio State and in the end, their pitches weren’t better than what Malzahn and Auburn could offer the athletic defensive tackle.

As you can see in Jackson’s highlights, he has a quick get off and uses his hands as well as any defensive tackle you’ll see on the prep level. Auburn got a good one today and now the class stands at 18 deep and ranks among the top 10 classes in the nation, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings.
