Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens on opening night but he wasn’t as happy as you would have imagined.
In case you just returned from a trip to Mars, the new Star Wars movie premiered last night and Star Wars: The Force Awakens broke the box-office record held by one of the Harry Potter films for opening night.
Helping The Force Awakens set the record was none other than Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh who attended a midnight showing with his sons James and Jay, who also serves as the Wolverines tight ends coach.
For some reason, Jim doesn’t look too happy, which makes me wonder if he’d rather be in bed or in the office pouring over notes to prepare for Florida in the team’s bowl game, because this is a joyous occasion for Star Wars fans.
But then you look at the caption and it all makes sense.
Harbaugh is a big fan of Darth Vader who (spoiler alert!!!) isn’t in The Force Awakens and it totally bummed out The Michigan Man.
Can't wait 4 #StarWars to start w/ James & @JayHarbaugh! Wish my guy @darthvader was in it, but he had a good run! pic.twitter.com/7IMJNLpLu9

The last sentence in that tweet is probably how a lot of San Francisco 49ers fans feel watching this year’s team struggle along without Harbaugh at the helm.

He wasn’t a villain like Darth Vader, although Jed York certainly thought so, but Harbaugh had a good run in the city by the bay and now he’s in Year 1 in what promises to be a good run in Ann Arbor.
He’ll just have to go back to the first three movies in the franchise to get some Darth Vader action.
