Alcorn State vs. North Carolina A&T
Atlanta | Georgia Dome
Dec. 19, Noon on ABC
This is the inaugural game for this bowl, and features two schools from the SWAC and MEAC, conferences featuring the Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Alcorn State defeated Grambling State 49-21 in the SWAC Championship Game to make their way into this bowl, and North Carolina A&T finished in a three-way tie in the MEAC along with North Carolina Central and Bethune-Cookman. Based on their strength of schedule and wins against tougher opponents, they were given the bid for this bowl.
This is strength against strength, with Alcorn State scoring 40.6 points per game, while NCA&T only allowed opponents 15.6 points per game.
Line: NCA&T, -1.5
Take Alcorn State to cover and win. The Braves have too much offense, and won’t have the rust factor that NCA&T will have, not having played since Nov. 21. Braves by 6.
