The Belk Bowl has turned into one of the better SEC-ACC battles of the bowl season in recent years, and this year should be another good one.
Dak Prescott will have one last opportunity to show what he can do (not that he hasn’t shown it plenty in this career) and coming up against NC State will be a great way to close it out for the Bulldogs’ quarterback.
NC State plays pretty solid defense all around. Nothing spectacular, and no real big standout players, but they get the job done pretty well. They also play a pretty balanced offense, a little run heavy at times, but effective when needed. That said, they’re a hard team to figure, losing two games to pretty bad teams and three to pretty good ones.
Mississippi State was picked to finish dead last in the SEC West, and ended up just one notch above that. However, the 4-4 conference record is deceptive, as they really fought hard against tough teams like LSU and Ole Miss, while being taken to the woodshed by Alabama and Texas A&M.
Line: Mississippi State, -5
That seems a fair bet with Dak Prescott being the difference maker to separate these two evenly matched teams. Bulldogs cover.
