The Peach Bowl is one of the oldest bowls in the nation, and traditionally has provided some of the top games in every bowl season. Last year’s mudhole stomping of Ole Miss by TCU an obvious exception.

Things are a little different in Atlanta this year. Once again, the bowl’s traditional SEC-ACC matchup is gone, and for the second straight year it’s an early start time.

Houston’s dream season will conclude with a shot to knock off the Florida State Seminoles, and head coach Tom Herman can up his stock for the eventual move to take over at Texas when Charlie Strong is ushered out (predictions? yes, predictions). Herman’s offense has been spectacular this season, busting out 40.6 points per game. They’ve played pretty good defense, but haven’t faced a team as talented as the Seminoles either.

For FSU’s part, they ran into a bit of bad luck in Atlanta against Georgia Tech back in October, and then hit the Clemson buzzsaw a few weeks later. Still, given that they were trying to replace Jameis Winston with a transfer quarterback and were dealing with an lot of talent going to the NFL, Jimbo Fisher can’t be totally displeased. This is still an elite team with a lot to prove.

Line: FSU, -7

Houston has had a wonderful year, but this is FSU. The Cougars haven’t faced anyone even close to this caliber. Take the Seminoles to cover up to 10.
