Trevor Knight Transfer: Texas A&M favorites for Oklahoma transfer
Former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Trevor Knight could be headed to Texas A&M to help fill their depleted depth chart after transfers from Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray.
The Texas A&M Aggies have been hit hard with quarterback defections in the last week with former five-star recruits Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray announcing their plans to transfer. This left head coach Kevin Sumlin with rumors about his job security and without a proven commodity at quarterback for the Music City Bowl and for the 2016 season.
But help could be on the way for next year in the form of former Texas A&M commit and former Oklahoma starting quarterback Trevor Knight who is transferring from the Sooners.
According to Taylor Hamm of 247Sports, Knight spoke with Sumlin multiple times in the last week and is expected to make his decision on where to transfer before Christmas and calls Texas A&M the front-runners to receive his commitment.
Texas A&M has been crippled by the transfer but could be boosted by the transfer in 2016 if Knight can regain the form he flashed during his first two years in Norman before Baker Mayfield beat him out for the starting job this year.
Knight threw four touchdowns in a Sugar Bowl win against Alabama two years ago as a freshman and started 10 games as a sophomore in 2014 and has completed 57.1 percent of his passes for 3,424 yards, 25 touchdowns and 19 interceptions for his career. The San Antonio native also has some dual-threat ability, running for 853 yards and eight touchdowns on 151 carries.

Because Knight is a grad transfer he will be eligible to play immediately at a FBS school, so he wouldn’t have to sit out 2016, which means Knight could compete with Jake Hubenak for the Aggies starting QB job in 2016 and bridge the gap until five-star commit Tate Martell arrives in 2017.
