Duke unveils awesome alternate helmets for Pinstripe Bowl (Photo)
Duke revealed the awesome alternate helmets they will be wearing for the Pinstripe Bowl.
If you are going to play a football game, you might as well do so in style. Monday, the Duke Blue Devils unveiled the helmets they will be wearing for their Pinstripe Bowl contest against the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday, December 26.
The helmets will be white with a retro design that dates back to the 1966-69 seasons, the last design for the Blue Devils before their current one which is now the block “D” and the Duke scripture on the side.
Things are looking up for the Blue Devils as they are set to make their fourth bowl appearance in a row. They are hoping that the fourth time’s a charm as they have lost their previous three bowl appearances with the last one a being a 31-16 defeat at the hands of the Arizona State Sun Devils in the Sun Bowl last year.
Indiana is currently a two-point favorite for the game.

I really like the helmets. They are simple and clean and the shiny Blue Devil really pops out against the white background. The fact that it is retro is a bonus, as the logo carries with it the pride and tradition of Duke football lore. I think it is better than the block “D” design that the program currently has because it is more unique.
The Blue Devils hope that the retro helmets will bring them success as they look to secure a victory in Yankee Stadium to win their first bowl game since a 7-6 Cotton Bowl victory over Arkansas in 1960.
