Previewing The Bahamas Bowl with the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and Western Michigan Broncos playing on Christmas Eve from Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau.

Middle Tennessee and Western Michigan meet in the Bahamas Bowl for a matinée on Christmas Eve. Middle Tennessee went 7-5 and 6-2 in Conference USA to finish in a tie for second place.

The Blue Raiders enter the bowl on a four-game winning streak behind the throwing of quarterback Brent Stockstill who has thrown for 3,678 yards and 27 touchdowns while leading the nation’s No. 17 passing offense.

They don’t run it very often and have the nation’s No. 96 rushing offense, but Western Michigan loves to pound the rock and control the clock with their ball control offense.

P.J. Fleck’s Broncos are averaging just below 200 yards per game on the ground, ranking No. 34 in the nation with 197.2 rushing yards per game. The duo of Jamauri Bogan and Jarvion Franklin has kept teams off balance all year.

But it’s been the passing game that makes this matchup so dangerous for Middle Tennessee. Western Michigan is led by quarterback Zach Terrell and 1,000-yard receivers Daniel Braverman and Corey Davis beat teams through the air. Both receivers have at least 80 receptions and 11 touchdowns on the year and will be the toughest tandem Middle Tennessee has seen all year.
