Oregon State was the only team without a first or second-team All-Conference Pac-12 selection but had five honorable mention nominees. Among those was punter Nick Porebski.

He’s had a bit of interesting path to get to where he is. Hailing as an Australian footballer who never considered punting until doctors advised he stay away from extreme contact after suffering a shoulder injury. He then took to punting and wanted to head over to the United States, where he went to Snow College in rural Utah. He fulfilled his academic and transfer requirements and committed to play for Oregon State soon thereafter.

Only five Power Five teams had to punt more than Oregon State this year, which includes Texas, Vanderbilt, Florida, Missouri, and Boston College. He was called on 72 times this season, averaging six punts a game. He only averaged about 41 yards a punt, but it was his foot that kept opposing teams out of field position and gave his offense a break after a stalled drive.

The Oregon State offense was stagnant, with three different quarterbacks, and the defense was porous, giving up 35-plus points eight times this season. Therefore, it is Porebski who claims the MVP of the 2015 Oregon State Beavers.
