Pinstripe Bowl: Duke beats Indiana to get first bowl win since 1961
The Duke Blue Devils won their first bowl game for the first time since 1961 with a 44-41 overtime win over the Indiana Hoosiers in the Pinstripe Bowl.
Duke needed overtime to get their first bowl win 44 years and a missed field goal that would have forced a second overtime, but for the first time in eight years at Duke, head coach David Cutcliffe wins the last game of the year.

For the first time in program history, Duke has eight wins in three straight years as they finish 8-5 with the 44-41 win in overtime. The Blue Devils were led by Shaun Wilson who 282 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, including an 85-yard touchdown run and a 98-yard kick return for a touchdown.
Wilson was one of three Duke players with 100 yards rushing on the day with his 103 yards and a score. Jela Duncan had 109 yards on 13 carries and quarterback Thomas Sirk led the team with 155 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.
Much of the offense came via the ground with 373 yards and three touchdowns from Duke and Indiana had 278 yards and two touchdowns, with 227 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries coming from Devine Redding in place of the injured Jordan Howard.
The Hoosiers also had a lot of success through the air with Nate Sudfeld throwing for 389 yards and three touchdowns to three different receivers and three different receivers having at least 89 yards. Simmie Cobbs led the team in receiving with 121 yards on six catches.

Griffin Oakes had a chance to force double overtime but his kick was ruled no good and just outside the right upright. It looked like it may have gone directly over the upright on the television reviews, but it wasn’t reviewed and he finished his day 2/4 kicking while Duke’s Ross Martin was 3/3 on his kicks, including the game-winner in overtime.
Special teams were the difference in the Pinstripe Bowl as one streak ends with Duke getting their first bowl win since 1961 while Indiana is still without a bowl win since the 1991 Copper Bowl win over South Carolina behind quarterback Trent Green.
