South Carolina Recruiting: 4-Star WR Cavin Ridley commits
Following the Under Armour All-American Game, South Carolina picked up a commitment from wideout Cavin Ridley.
The South Carolina Gamecocks picked up a big commitment from 2016 four-star wide receiver Cavin Ridley (Deerfield Beach. Deerfield Beach, Fla) He announced his commitment after the Under Armour All-American Game Saturday.

Ridley is the No. 177 player in his class, No. 32 wide receiver, and the No. 25 player in the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
He was recruited to the Gamecocks by defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson, with the Gamecocks being among 12 teams that offered the talented wideout.
From within the SEC, Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Tennessee all extended offers his way. At one point, he narrowed his list down to South Carolina and Alabama where his older brother Calvin is a freshman receiver and a second-team All-SEC performer, but in the end, he decided that South Carolina was the best place for him.
He will not have to wait long to immerse himself in campus life. Per a report from John Whittle of 247Sports, he is an early graduate and will enroll in classes on January 11.
The Gamecocks’ ’16 class is shaping up nicely and is certainly strengthened with this commitment. Totaling 18 commitments, four have already signed their letter of intent while 15 are hard commitments per the 247Sports Team Rankings.
Ridley is the fourth four-star commitment, and second from the Sunshine State joining defensive end Keir Thomas (Miami, FL. Miami Central)

Ridley possesses tremendous speed once he gets into the open field. As a receiver, he is able to get off the line of scrimmage quickly and then use that speed to gain separation from the defender once he makes the catch. He will be a tremendous asset for South Carolina and with spring ball approaching, he’ll be able to showcase his talents immediately.
