Florida State All-American Jalen Ramsey declares for NFL Draft
Florida State Seminoles All-American defensive back Jalen Ramsey is leaving school early and declaring for the 2016 NFL Draft.
As expected, Florida State junior cornerback Jalen Ramsey is bypassing his senior and entering the 2016 NFL Draft where he is projected to be a first-round pick and potential top-10 selection.

“Today, after having in depth discussions with my parents, my coaches and others whom I hold dear to my heart, I am announcing my decision to pursue my dream, forgo my senior year of football at Florida State and declare for the 2016 NFL Draft,” Ramsey said in a statement, via seminoles.com.
The two-time All-American started every game in his college career, including becoming the first freshman cornerback to start at Florida State since Deion Sanders. He showcased his versatility by moving to safety, nickelback and later back to corner as a junior.
“I’m extremely happy for Jalen and his family,” Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher said. “I think it is a very smart decision by him. He will be a tremendous pro. He was an outstanding player and leader for us. I cannot say enough good things about him. I wish him nothing but the best and he will always be a part of the Florida State family.”
Ramsey could be the first defensive back taken in April’s draft but it remains to be seen if teams will view him as a cornerback or safety prospect. He could be an All-Pro at either position in all likelihood, so it’s just a matter of what team picks him and how they’re set at those positions.

With cornerback being more of a premium position, expect Ramsey to get his chances at that position first, but with his ability to line up all over the defensive backfield, you can also expect Ramsey to do more of what he did at Florida State in the NFL.
