Les Miles is banning LSU football players from going to bars after one of his players after one of his players was stabbed at a Baton Rouge bar.
LSU tight end Dillon Gordon was stabbed multiple times at a bar in Baton Rouge on Tuesday and despite a Baton Rouge police spokesperson downplaying the severity of the injuries, the incident was a preventable one that could have been much worse.

LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles has one idea to prevent a situation like this from happening again and it’s an idea that could put a dent into the pockets of bar owners on campus.
Miles is banning his LSU football players from attending bars and prefers their social interaction they’re seeking at bars and night clubs be found at home, classes and any number of other places.
“I’m cutting it off,” Miles said Tuesday, via The Advocate. “It’s just not worth it. The reason you go out is because you want social interaction. Social interaction can take place at home, at class, can take place at a number of places. You don’t have to go to a fight night club.”
This isn’t the first time a football coach has banned his players from going to bars as Florida State Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher did the same thing before the season started after a now dismissed-freshman quarterback assaulted a female at a bar.

Now, the move is done with good intentions, but how well they will be in enforcing the ban remains to be seen, but hopefully situations like the one Gordon was in earlier this week will be prevented by Miles’ actions.
