The TCU Horned Frogs picked up the commitment from four-star defensive tackle Ross Blacklock during the U.S. Army All-American Game.

Ross Blacklock committed to play for Gary Patterson and TCU for the next four years during the Army All-American Game. The 6-4, 316-pounder picked the Horned Frogs over Texas A&M and Houston. LSU and Oklahoma State were in his top five in late October but fell off as the recruiting process went on and he took more visits.

He ranks as the nation’s No. 271 overall recruit, No. 28 defensive tackle and the No. 40 prospect in the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is scheduled to take his official visit to TCU on Jan. 22 and sign his letter of intent with the Horned Frogs two weeks later during National Signing Day.

The first thing you notice about Blacklock is how massive he is. He has thick legs and is stout at the point of attack so he can hold up in the run game. He’s strong, explosive and has a quick enough first step that he can collapse the pocket as a pass rusher or sneak into the backfield to make tackles for loss.

Blacklock is the fourth-highest high school commit on the board for TCU who have the nation’s No. 20 class and the No. 2 class in the Big 12, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings.
