Kirk Herbstreit thinks Nick Saban will join ESPN’s College GameDay
Kirk Herbstreit has some inside information about where Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban will be working when he leaves Alabama.
After the NFL regular season ended last week and NFL jobs were opening up across the country, including at marquee organizations like the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers, the conversation always gets brought up about whether Nick Saban will leave Alabama for the NFL.

It’s a guarantee this time of year that “Saban to (insert team here)” rumors will pop up and year after year we get a comment from Saban who says he’s not leaving Alabama or interested in coaching elsewhere. His family is in Alabama and he’s got the best job in the world, so why would he ever leave?
I don’t think he ever coaches another college or NFL team, but ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit knows where Saban will have his next job when he decides it’s time to leave Alabama behind.
Herbstreit was on the Dan Patrick Show on Monday morning before Saban and Alabama meet the Clemson Tigers in Monday night’s championship game and thinks he’ll be working with Saban on College GameDay.
I think this would be an awesome fit for Saban and for the popular pre-game show on ESPN.
Saban has appeared on the show dozens of times as a coach when the show visited for his team’s games and he was a guest analyst for the BCS Championship Game when Auburn and Florida State played two years ago. His insight into his former assistant, Jimbo Fisher and his familiarity with an Auburn team made for an enjoyable and educational listening experience.

He has a reputation for being a tough, no-nonsense guy who doesn’t care for the media, but he has a great personality and his sense of humor would make a great addition to the show.
Alabama fans hope that won’t happen anytime soon, but when Saban decides to retire, hopefully, his next job will be on GameDay so we can continue to get his insight into the great game of college football.
