National Signing Day 2016: Predicting where top 30 uncommitted recruits sign
20. Nigel Knott

Athlete would be the proper word to describe four-star prospect Nigel Knott. Currently, the Mississippi native has several teams interested in him, and the 28 offers he has amassed are a testament to that. However, two teams, in particular, are the frontrunners for Knott. Alabama and Oregon fit that description and the favorite in this two-horse race are the Crimson Tide.
In their ’16 class, Alabama currently has no cornerbacks in the class. This would be a crucial get for the program as the Tide lose four defensive backs to graduation. With a revamped secondary on tap for the ’16 campaign, the talented Knott would serve as a spark plug to a new era of Alabama football as the defending champions look to go back-to-back.
Knott is an excellent coverage corner and is able to read the ball very well. He would bring a ball hawk mentality to the Tide secondary and in essence, shut down one side of the field. He also does a nice job of coming up and making the tackle when he needs to, but his calling card is without a doubt his coverage abilities.
Knott is a great fit for the Alabama secondary, especially with the numerous departure of seniors on the defensive side of the ball, and while the Oregon Ducks are indeed in play, I find it very difficult to imagine Nick Saban losing out on a recruit.
Prediction: Alabama
