Tennessee Football: Elite WR Marquez Callaway commits to Vols
The Tennessee football team added Marquez Callaway to their 2016 recruiting class after the four-star receiver gave his verbal pledge to the Vols on Thursday.
Tennessee bills itself as Wide Receiver U and they added another piece on Thursday to continue that legacy with the commitment from four-star receiver Marquez Callaway (Warner Robins, GA. Warner Robins) who commits days after taking an official visit to the school.

The 6-1.5, 177-pound Callaway is a four-star recruit who ranks as the nation’s No. 103 overall recruit, No. 3 athlete and the No. 12 recruit in the state of Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is the 13th member of the class (excluding enrolled junior college transfers) and the second-highest ranked recruit behind quarterback Jarrett Guarantano who is the No. 77 recruit in the nation.

Callaway is also the fourth wide receiver recruit in Butch Jones’ class that ranks No. 21 in the nation and No. 8 in the SEC, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings.

With two weeks until National Signing Day and the Vols in the mix for a few high-profile uncommitted recruits, the Vols could crack the top 15 when the dust settles after the Feb. 3 circus that is signing day.
The U.S. Army All-American picked Tennessee over offers from Georgia, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Callaway is scheduled to take official visits to the latter two programs, but after his commitment it remains to be seen if he will still take the visits to Oxford and Starkville.
