NFL Draft 2016: 10 players at Senior Bowl with most to gain
It’s an annual tradition where we see quarterbacks making the conversion to running back, wide receiver, return man or all of the above. This year will be no exception as Braxton Miller will try to prove his head start on his transition has him in the position to help an NFL team in need of a playmaker.
Miller was the Big Ten’s best player and one of the nation’s best quarterbacks from 2012-2013 before a pair of surgeries to his throwing shoulder and Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett‘s play resulted in him changing positions to wide receiver. He showed flashes of brilliance last year for the Buckeyes but there were growing pains and long droughts between one dynamic play to the next.
That can be attributed to his learning a position on the fly and because of problems from Jones and Barrett, but I think Miller showed he has a future in the NFL as a receiver. Depending on how well he learns the route tree and he can get in and out of his breaks this week could determine if Miller can be a late-second round pick.
