8.Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame holds a class that doesn’t have any standout guys compared to those classes in the top 10, but it’s enriched with a lot of talent at almost every position. They could eventually slide down in the rankings once the teams behind them start to catch up.

The beauty of Notre Dame’s recruiting class is that they are landing guys from all across the country. The midwest, California, Florida, the south, even British Columbia. Adding the mix of talent from across the country with the depth they find at each position surely helps as well. A great amount of receivers, offensive linemen and safeties, as well as some other essential pieces on defense. And at the end of the day, maybe that’s what Notre Dame was looking for in this class, balance.

But for being such a highly ranked recruiting class, Notre Dame sure has a lot of three-star prospects in this class. Stars certainly don’t define a kid, or measure his ceiling, but when you’re comparing some of these kids on a national level, among the big names that are included in this top 10 list, it’s not exactly comparable.

Should Notre Dame see a dip in the program come two, three years down the road, maybe dropping to a 8-win season, which some might consider disappointing by the Fighting Irish Standard, this class could be a strong indication about why things went awry.
