The dust has settled on National Signing Day and it’s the Florida State Seminoles to come out on top of the college football recruiting class rankings.

College football recruiting rankings are the number that fans will remember more than wins, losses or where they rank in the top 25 so when National Signing Day rolls around, it’s a prime opportunity to get bragging rights over their rivals.

This year, it was Jimbo Fisher and the Florida State Seminoles who have bragging rights after getting the No. 1 recruiting class, according to the ESPN rankings.

The Seminoles began the day at No. 3 but moved into the top spot after a banner day on National Signing Day that saw the Noles add Brian Burns, Carlos Becker, Jauan Williams, Amir Rasul, Dontavious Jackson, Landon Dickerson and former Florida commit Shavar Manuel.

This group could take back the ACC from Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers who finished with the No. 8 class.

After Florida State, it was a trio of SEC football teams with Alabama, who had their four-year streak of the top class come to an end (at least on ESPN), LSU and Ole Miss who may have a better class than the one in 2013 that got them Robert Nkemdiche, Laremy Tunsil and Laquon Treadwell.

LSU began the day at No. 1 but there’s nothing to be disappointed about dropping down to No. 3 with a class that had 19 commitments in the ESPN300.

Next, Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes round out the top five and the Michigan Wolverines who landed the nation’s top player, Rashan Gary, came in at No. 6.
