The Nebraska Cornhuskers have welcomed a new crop of talented players to campus, announcing the 2016 Nebraska football recruiting class on National Signing Day.

Mike Riley’s first season in Lincoln had its ups and downs, but the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ head coach inked the No. 26 class in the country (fifth in the Big Ten), according to 247Sports, which is the best finish for the program since 2013.

The headliner of the class 6-foot-4, 220-pound four-star quarterback Patrick O’Brien, who along with three-star wideout Derrion Grim, is already on campus as an early enrollee. O’Brien is the No. 201 overall prospect in this year’s class and a top ten pro-style QB.

Other highly touted newcomers in the 2016 Nebraska recruiting class includes two four-star offensive linemen that were both U.S. Army All-Americans – John Raridon and Matt Farniok. Radian is listed at just 6-foot-2 and 258 pounds, so he lacks ideal size, but he’s athletic and packs a punch. Farniok is a more prototypical 6-foot-4, 297 pounds, and was a huge addition to the Huskers’ class in late January, choosing Nebraska over both Michigan State and Iowa.

With only one starting position nailed down on the offensive line heading into 2016, both Raridon and Farniok will have an opportunity to compete for early playing time.

Safety Marquel Dismuke is the fourth and final four-star prospect in this year’s class, which also includes 15 players rated as three-star performers.
