Top 2017 recruit Dylan Moses names Alabama his leader
Top 2017 recruit Dylan Moses has a leader in mind but five schools remain in the picture for the player who initially committed to the LSU Tigers as an eighth grader.
The dust hasn’t even settled on the 2016 National Signing Day festivities last week, but the focus is already turning to the group of 2017 recruits.

Dylan Moses (Bradenton, FL. IMG Academy) is the nation’s top recruit, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings and after decommitting from LSU last Aubust. The Baton Rouge native transferred to IMG in part to take the pressure off him with the expectation he’d head to LSU.
Getting out of state allows Moses to have some freedom by getting out of state and focusing on his upcoming senior season and the recruiting roller coaster he’s about to experience.
After receiving scholarship offers from LSU and Alabama as an eighth grader, Moses is no stranger to the pressures from the recruiting trail, but it’s about to be amplified as he enters his senior year as the nation’s top recruit.
Moses tells ESPN’s Derek Tyson about his plans for upcoming visits, who he hopes to hear from and the top six schools he’s considering, including his current favorite.
“Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Florida, UCLA and USC are still my top schools,” Moses said, via ESPN’s Derek Tyson ($). “Alabama is still my leader because they are more structured. They have very good discipline over there so they get their kids doing what they have to do. I like their strength program, coach [Scott] Cochran, coach [Nick] Saban. It’s just a really great coaching staff over there and I just really feel comfortable there.”
No surprise Alabama represents his leader. They have five straight years of having the nation’s top recruiting class and are the reigning national champions.

Texas, Georgia, Florida, UCLA and USC all are all heavyweights but Moses is hoping to add another blue blood into the conversation, telling Tyson he’d like to get an offer from Michigan.
It’s a long way to go until Moses makes his announcement at the Under Armour All-American Game next January, but Alabama is the team to beat for the 6-2, 220-pound outside linebacker.
