44. . DE. Georgia. Leonard Floyd. 17. player

The Atlanta Falcons need to take the best edge rusher on the board when they’re on the clock. They were last in the NFL last year with only 19 sacks and the inability to get to the quarterback in a division with Cam Newton, Drew Brees and Jameis Winston is a sizeable problem.

There are options like Emmanuel Ogbah, Kevin Dodd, Noah Spence and Leonard Floyd available but think Ogbah and Spence have a high bust rate so that leaves it to Dodd and Floyd. Dodd is a former teammate of last year’s first round pick Vic Beasley and was second in the nation in tackles for loss last year, but is he a one-year wonder?

Floyd tested well at the Combine and showed flashes of being a disruptive edge rusher at Georgia and think his ceiling is the highest, so he’s the pick.
