The Michigan Wolverines are embracing their spring break practices in Florida but they could get some company from two coaches interested in seeing what’s going on at IMG Academy.

Jim Harbaugh created a stir when he said his Michigan football team would hold a portion of their spring practices during spring break and they’d be doing those practices on the campus of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

IMG Academy is home to some of the nation’s best high school recruits with 10 in the ESPN 300 rankings and that drew the ire from the SEC and ACC Commissioners Greg Sankey and John Swofford, respectively, and a NCAA rule change could be coming that prevents student-athletes practicing during vacation periods.

Meanwhile, Michigan players, including All-Big Ten tight end Jake Butt loved the spring break practices because he could focus solely on football and didn’t have any other distractions. Plus, he could relax in a nice atmosphere with his teammates unlike in chilly Ann Arbor this time of year.

Turns out Butt, Harbaugh and Michigan could be getting some company to the team’s open practice on Friday with Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema and Mark Dantonio from rival Michigan State tweeting their thoughts about making an appearance to watch the practice.

This prompted Dantonio to reply to Bielema’s tweet, which would set up quite a nice lunch date between the two coaches who have appeared in four Rose Bowls between them.

And I’m pretty sure the two coaches aren’t serious about their intentions to make the trip, but how awesome would it be to see them, and other coaches, just chilling in the stands with some of the nation’s top recruits watching Harbaugh’s team go through drills?
